          How Bruker’s solutions for the welding industry enable thorough incoming, pre-welding, in-welding or post-welding inspections

          Every metal construction is only as strong as its weakest weld. Thorough inspections and reliable testing results can make the difference between success and failure of any welded product of any size. Furthermore, they are necessary to prevent incidents and accidents.

          Bruker offers a wide portfolio of solutions for all tasks within the welding industry ranging from incoming inspections of raw materials and welding rods to all kinds of pre-, in- and post-welding inspections.

          For example, whereas benchtop XRF instruments gain information on the general chemical composition of the weld, Micro-XRF, EDS and EBSD techniques will qualify and quantify e.g. welding defects on the micrometer scale such as inclusions, the lack of fusion or local deformations.

          Our instruments include handheld XRF for in-situ testings, optical emission spectrometers (OES), CS/ONH combustion gas analyzer, benchtop XRF/XRD-instruments, Micro-XRF spectrometers as well as Micro-XRF, EDS and EBSD detectors on electron microscopes.
