          Molecular diagnostics can have significant impact on patient care and laboratory management.           Bruker’s real-time PCRs are clinically driven. Using existing laboratory equipment, they provide rapid results with high sensitivity and specificity without culture. 

          Fungiplex? Aspergillus detects the main causative pathogens associated with invasive aspergillosis, where clinical culture sensitivity is low. Invasive aspergillosis is hard to diagnose, affects immuno-compromised patients and is associated with high mortality.

          Fungiplex? Aspergillus Azole-R detects the most common mutations of the Cyp51 gene associated with resistance to the azole class of antifungal drugs, the primary option for the prophylaxis and treatment of invasive aspergillosis. Resistance to azoles in Aspergillus fumigatus is emerging as a global health problem.

          Fungiplex? Candida detects the main causative species associated with invasive candidiasis. Invasive candidiasis is hard to diagnose with slow turnaround and poor sensitivity by culture. Delayed diagnosis is linked to high mortality in critical care patients.   

          Carbaplex? detects the five most prevalent carbapenemase gene families. The rapid detection of carbapenemase genes from rectal swabs supports timely deployment of infection control procedures and appropriate patient management.
